Most books may be renewed online, by phone [(210) 684-0720], or in person at the circulation desk. If you need extra time, please let us know so that arrangements can be made. In most cases we will have no problem rescheduling due dates, but if you do not let us know your situation, you may incur fines. Please note that calls will only be answered during normal operating hours (see hours above). Certain items, such as interlibrary loans, DVDs, and books which have been reserved by other patrons, cannot be renewed. Please be kind and return your items on time and in good condition so that others can check them out! Please remember to return Leon Valley Public Library books to us; do NOT try to return LVPL materials to any other library. They will not be checked in until they arrive at our circulation desk, and other libraries will not take responsibility for books they do not own. Books which do not find their way back here will be counted as lost, and you will be billed for a replacement.
Please be careful with all borrowed materials! Others may be waiting to borrow the same item, and when items are lost or damaged, everyone loses. Some items are expensive or rare and difficult to replace.
However, we realize that accidents do happen, so please let us know as soon as you realize an item has been lost or damaged. You will be responsible for the loss, but sometimes you can simply purchase a replacement yourself for less than the fine amount, or offer a trade item, or work out another means of settling the debt. At certain times of the year, non perishible food items may be accepted in lieu of fines. We can find a way to work with anyone who is willing to work with us.
